The x70 rack system was engineered around fabrication methods that are realistic for both prototyping and production.

Core Construction

• 20 mm square tubing frame: Provides a stable structural backbone with straightforward fabrication.
• 5 mm aluminium backplate: Creates a rigid interface between the frame and interchangeable modules.
• Modular holders: Built to support multiple module types without redesigning the base rack.

Production Direction

The geometry and module interfaces were iterated to improve repeatability, assembly consistency, and part replacement. This allows the same rack architecture to support multiple equipment setups while keeping manufacturing complexity under control.
